Licensed Midwife
For as long as I can remember, I have felt called to nurture, empower, and protect newborn babies and their new mothers. I have always known that birth is a sacred right of passage and the fact that I have been given the honor to witness, protect, and encourage that, has been one of the greatest and most fulfilling joys of my life, second to becoming a mother to my three beautiful children!
I have attended over 300 births and have been serving women and babies through well-woman care, childbirth education, prenatal care, labor and birth support, postpartum care, well-newborn care and lactation support for over 10 years. As a native Californian, I first felt the call to serve as a midwife during an overseas trip to Zambia, Africa at the age of 16. I then began photographing birth stories as well as attending several births as a Doula (a trained birth support). From there, I began my clinical training as a midwife with an Obstetrician where I attended prenatal clinic as well as hospital births. After falling in love with the reality of women giving birth safely in the comfort of their own home, I began another internship with a home birth Midwife and began my midwifery academic studies. I attended many home births during this time, gaining an overall understanding of the normalcy of pregnancy and birth and what it meant to “midwife a birth”. I had the opportunity to spend a year in the Philippines at two high-volume birthing clinics where I gained invaluable experience attending many high-risk complicated births. I graduated midwifery school and passed the NARM, (The North American Registry of Midwives) national board exam and received my CPM license and was recognized for earning one of the highest passing scores on the National Board Exam.
Our family moved from California to Texas in 2016 and feel honored and blessed to be able to serve the wonderful families of Texas!
